FAQ
How many years have MY DJs been DJing?
The MY DJs Company has been a reputable business for over 15 years!
Our licensed and insured company requires all of our DJs to have a minimum of 5 years professional DJing experience, with most of our DJs having 10 or more years of professional DJing experience.
What Type of equipment do we use?
We only use top of the line professional DJ equipment.
Do we have a back plan if the can’t make it?
We always retain a DJ within our company per weekend as a backup in the event of an emergency. This is one of the many benefits of choosing a multi-op DJ Company!
Will MY DJs play requests?
Our DJs do take requests and may play some of them. Our DJs “filter” requests, meaning they will not play a song that you specifically asked the DJ not to play or music from a genre you asked the DJ not to play. If someone makes a request that fits in well with what the DJ is playing at the time and with the music the client wants, then the DJ may play the request.
Can We Submit Requests?
You are able to pick which songs you definitely want to hear, and ones you do not want to hear, for your event. We have an online planning system which has in part, our music planner where you can make your song lists.
Will you be the DJ at our wedding?
The person you meet and speak with at the initial interview will be the specific DJ for your wedding day. It is our common practice for our clients to feel comfortable knowing who their DJ is prior to their wedding.
Do I Tip the DJ?
We do not include gratuity in the final contract price. 10 – 20% is generally recommended if your DJ did a great job, but it is entirely up to you.
When Do I Book A DJ?
A good time frame to reserve a principal DJ is at least a year before the event. However, we have DJs available for last minute events as well.
How Many Songs Should I Request?
You can select all of the songs you would like to hear, and ones you do not want to hear, during your event through our online planning system. Your login information for that system is included in the email with you contract. Some clients will give their DJ 50+ songs, some maybe 10, so it is up to you. We would like for you to at least give your DJ 10-15 songs of different genres and artists you would like to hear, as well as songs/artists you don’t, so your DJ has an idea of what music you’d like for the different parts of the event. We will play any kind of music you would like and will not play anything that is on your Do Not Play list. During your initial consultation, your DJ will ask about your music preferences.
Do MY DJs have samples of their work?
We have a top rated company with demo videos of our DJs. Better yet, we invite you to our studio for a live demonstration where the DJ mixes and Emcees uniquely for you!
(Don’t book just off references or meeting at a Starbucks)
What are the terms for booking?
A signed contract and deposit are required at the time of booking. Payments and E-sign contracts can be made through our online planning system.
Would if we can’t meet in-person at your studio?
We can substitute an in-person meetings with video chat platform.. This is a great alternative to meet and interview the DJ in person. This will give you a good idea of how experienced and personable our DJ is!
